    Storyline:1920年代的中国。乡村女子周莲（于兰饰）和师范学生江梅清（孙道临饰）喜结连理。此时的中国正处在大革命风暴前夕，新婚伊始，小夫妻情恩意浓，渐渐地周莲对丈夫的行为产生了不理解，她不知道丈夫是北伐军中的共产党人，但大革命失败后，丈夫惨遭反动派杀害。
