Storyline:故事的主角是一只名叫“德佩罗”（Despereaux）的小老鼠，它自小体弱多病，好不容易长大成鼠，跟哥哥姐姐们住在图书馆里吃书度日，就此学会了阅读。他最喜欢读那些英雄救美的故事，常常幻想自己也能成为一个英勇的骑士，在美人落难时拔刀相助。后来他爱上了豌豆公主，不幸的是因为一心想当公主的女仆的嫉妒和坏耗子的憎恨，可怜的公主被胁持进了地牢。为了自己所爱的人，德佩罗单枪匹马冲入地牢，最终救出了公主，并赢得了公主的芳心。
