Storyline:物語は『The World』という名のオンラインゲームの仮想現実世界内で繰り広げられる。原因不明のトラブルによってゲームの世界からログアウト（退出）出来なくなった司は、正規には存在しないはずの外見を持つ猫型PC（マハ）との関係、そして謎のモンスター?ガーディアンとの関連を疑われ、プレイヤー有志によって構成される自治団「紅衣の騎士団」より『The World』を崩壊させる危険人物として見なされ、追われることとなる。
